Dana White did a media call today and among the highlights.

No Fedor. Dana says he gave Fedor more than he wanted but M-1 wants co-promotion which UFC won't do. (Rightfully so)

Dana said M-1 is impossible to deal with and there is no deal but he will leave the door open should they reconsider.

Dana said UFC will go world-wide, including Russia. LOL.

Dana said that UFC will be run by them, not a network and that when they get a network they will put on excellent fights.

Tito said there was noone in Strikeforce for him to fight and said if he faced Frank Shamrock it would be the first death in MMA.

Tito's first opponent might be Mark Coleman but it won't be until the end of the year sometime.

Tito said after the contract he got that you will never hear him complain about money again.

Dana said that he's not saying that he and Tito may never disagree again but that they will never go down the road they went again.

Dana said that Silva's next opponent will probably be Henderson again and the winner of Maia v. Marquardt will determine the next contender. (Can't wait to see that #1 contender match!)

Dana said that the main event for UFC 103 will be Rich Franklin v. Vitor Belfort at the LHW level. (Wow, that's a tough fight for Rich!)

The Fedor deal was supposedly 6 fight $30 million. A cut of the PPV, Immediate shot at Lesnar. And all the M-1 logos they could wear.

M-1 is turning Fedor into a joke

Going to let him fight Sambo? That's his style so what is so special about letting him fight his style in UFC? Oleg Taktarov was a former UFC Champ who also did sambo.

Fedor competes in Sambo competitions. That used to be a major point of contention for Dana. He didn't want to risk Fedor getting hurt or losing is aura of invincibility. Dana relented yet M-1 wanted to co-promote. I don't blame Dana for standing his ground on this one. He was even willing to have all the M-1 advertisements they could gather all over the arena. But the "crazy Russians" won't give in.

I had mentioned Coleman in the last thread. I should get a cut from that fight.

Can't wait to see Ace vs Belfort. Should be a good fight and hopefully Hendo will get Silva once the Silva/Griffin fight is over

Fedor himself disputed the UFC's version of the offer. Good to see him go to StrikeForce. MMA needs 2 promotions just like wrestling needs more than the WWE.

Thanks for the explanation of the Sambo thing. I agree, I don't blame Dana for not wanting a signed fighter doing other competitions that could risk future fights, etc. and I don't blame him either for refusing to let M-1 come in as a co-promoter.

I don't think that he should be acting like a spoiled child though and lashing out at StrikeForce for landing the fighter that he couldn't or wouldn't give in to. If he's everything he thinks Fedor will be to StrikeForce, then he should just shut up and get the last laugh when they go bankrupt as he says. Going from a good relationship with Coker and StrikeForce to lashing out at them for landing Fedor just makes Dana look like a small petty man. Its things like that when Fedor was with Affliction that I believe got him looking like a jerk to Fedor in the first place. Not a way to endear himself to future fighters or even to Fedor himself in the future.

Totally agree. Dana can act like a spoiled child when someone else gets a new toy he hasn't had.

Or Dana could be tired of seeing people in MMA do business with M-1... how many promotions ahve they folded now...3?
