What's up? You guys planning on watching the fights on Sunday and Monday?

Henderson vs Varner for the LW title on Sun.-I think Varner is in trouble. Henderson was impressive vs "Cowboy" Cerrone, and Varner's had injury problems.

Monday's UFC Gray Maynard vs Nate Diaz fight should be a battle. Rest of the card looks like a push for the TUF guys.

UFC 109-yikes.

Looking forward to the WEC fight. Hoping for a Henderson win. WEC needs to figure out something about their live gate because they are barely making money to support their growing roster.

Didn't even realize that the Fight Night card was on Monday. If its on at 8pm, I'll watch till 9pm but then I go watch my Monday Night RAW!

Why the yikes for 109? That's the one with the wonderful Coleman v. Couture classic isn't it?

There's also a fight on the WEC undercard with an undefeated Brit who was on their Olympic wrestling team(forgot his name)'

Word on the street is that UFC 112 will be held in Abu Dhabi in April(?), and will be absolutely stacked:
Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort
Renzo Gracie vs Matt Hughes
Bj Penn vs ??? (possibly Takanora Gomi)

That's the rumor, I hope it's true, The UFC has had a run of so-so cards lately, they have to beef up those undercards-a lot.

I guess my next thread title will be "Hey, Diehard..."

But the two of us outnumber the one guy on the Red Bulls page (excluding myself and the other guy who posted there just for kicks).

Topic title is very funny. There used to be a few others who knew their MMA.

I didn't even bother with the last card. I now pick and choose my PPV's.

Unfortunately because of DirectTV's little fued I don't have a access to the VS channel.

The 112 card does seem stacked. I also heard the card in Newark is going to be pretty good. Mir/Carwin and GSP/Hardy, are nice fights.

BJ Penn is apparently going to fight Frankie Edgar at 112. With all due respect to Edgar, the UFC needs grt more top level competition at LW. Gomi is a good start, but more is needed, or Penn should move to WW.

BTW-You guys see the "World MMA Awards"??? Kind of a sham, as it was on VS., and it was sponsored by the UFC videogame.

Highlight of the night was Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans presenting "fight of the year" to Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida.

Guida wasn't there, so Sanchez accepted the award-TOTALLY BOMBED!!! Slurred and stammered and loved and thanked everybody. Slowly, as he rambled on, Henderson and Evans inched towards him. First they patted him on the back like "let's go", the Rashad eventually grabbed him by the elbow and pulled him away from the mic. If only they had a big hook.

Wasn't Diego the serious, straight kid on the reality show?

BJ v. Frankie Edgar?

Renzo will be too much for Matt Hughes and I'm a BIG Hughes fan. Matt just hasn't grown in the past few years and everyone else has caught up to and surpassed him. Especially since he got all hooked on trying to be a standup fighter.

I still don't think that Vitor deserves a title shot while Marquardt has to keep waiting.

No. Apparently some super rich sheik is a huge fan, and was instrumental in bringing the show over. I've heard wrestling/grappling is big in the Middle East. Abu Dhabi is going to hold a week of national amatuer tourneys leading up to the UFC event, and all involved are expecting it to be a huge deal over there.
