Oh how i remember before the draft last summer how Ozz was saying how the Nets should take Dejuan Blair in the draft and i was listening to everthing they were saying about him. Look at the numbers he had last night 29 points and 21 rebounds the Nets could really use those numbers now at the Power Foward spot.I've been watching all season and i have got to say i was wrong about him and Ozz was right.The Spurs really got a steal.
I was skeptical of Blair myself until I saw him match up against Hasheem Thabeet and basically destroy him. Blair being as undersized as he is, dominated the tallest top flight Center to come out in the draft in a long time. I also jumped out of my seat when he tossed all 7 foot 2 of Thabeet over his shoulder when they were wrestling for a rebound.
The only thing about Blair that may still be a concern are his knees but imo that was overblown as it usually is. If he can give the Spurs 5-8 years of really good basketball, I would say that was a great pick. Blair really would have been a big help is some areas we're terrible in like interior defense and rebounding.
