We're only two days away from the draft so just because there's really nothing else going on right now i'm gonna predict who I think we'll end up with.
I think he was the guy on top of Thorn's wish list as soon as he knew we were picking #11 overall. He kept saying how he we need a "moose", great rebounder, a leader someone who can pick and roll and someone who does the dirty work. He said someone like that is invaluable. After the reports of his bad knee's came out I think Thorn was turned off a bit but it turns out those reports were greatly exaggerated. I'm not sure if he's my top choice yet but I Think Rod Thorn is quietly drooling over Dejuan Blair. He would certainly help us out a lot and I would love to have him. A player like Blair would play a huge role in any championship run for any team. Look at Paul Milsap and how he helped the Jazz. I think Thorn really does like a lot of players but it's interesting how quite things are about Blair when Blair fist everything Thorn said he wants in a player this year. If it's not Blair it's probably Terrence Williams. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Just to add to that another reason just popped in my head. Does anyone remember Thorn's obsession with Sean May? He tried to trade up and draft him and then was rumored to try and land him through trade a few times? Well Blair is similar to May in a few ways except imo Blair is gonna be much better. Just thought I should add that. This message has been edited. Last edited by: ozzman, |

I really hope it's not Blair i just can't see a 6'5" Power Foward doing it for us unless he is the next Charle Barkley. I think it's going to be Terrance Williams even though i hope it's Earl Clark. They say Clark isn't tough and he lacks that killer instinct to make it in the NBA but after really thinking about it you have to be tough and have that will to even make it as a starter for Rick Pitino's teams. As for Sean May the Bobcats just released him and he is now an unrestricted free agent who Rod Thorn could sign for the mid level exemption, sign him for a year and see how he works out,see how his injuries are holding out.

Normally I would without question agree but there's a lot more to Blair than his lack of height. He's short at 6'6 but his wing span is something like 7'1 which allows him to play bigger and of course his wide body and strength allow him to get great positioning. Think Paul Milsap of the Jazz. If he can dominate 7'3 Hasheem Thabeet who also happens to be one of the better shot blocking prospects the draft has probably seen since Dikembe Mutumbo, I think he will be alright in the NBA.
If he can help us rebound, defend and help scoring inside he'll be a great pick. Our rebounding and lack of size if pretty pathetic right now. Not to mention Blair brings attitude and real vocal leader. I like that. With that said, i'm still deciding who I want because I love Williams and Clark too. This is gonna be one of the harder decisons Thorn has had to make in his career. This message has been edited. Last edited by: ozzman, |

I take back this prediction. I honestly didn't realize Blair didn't even work out for the Nets and according to just about every writer, Blair isn't even in thier top 6. Soooo...I guess it wasn't a smokescreen. So i'll go with Williams instead.
