Remember what I told you about Shawn Bowman,5157! Finally healthy,he just may show why he was considered every bit as promising as David Wright when joining the Organization. Now 24,he may just be a surprise visitor at Citifield some time this season. I wonder if he can handle second base? It wouldn't hurt to have another RH bat on the ML roster.

bowman was never considered anything ... he was never a good hitter ... the only good thing about him was his glove.

the only reason why he's even in double a is because the mets have useful talent in st. lucie and in savanah.

Young man! Do you honestly think your response 'here' would get lost and be considered Gospel? You are giving inaccurate information. Five years ago, while getting his feet wet in professional baseball,Mets scouts excitedly projected Bowman to be David Wright's equal, but a tad better with the glove. Long term injuries changed that perception. Why do you stubbornly persist in denying this? I don't know whether or not Bowman will carve out a major league career. What I do know is the Mets evidently are inclined to further their time invested in this kid. Why? They obviously think he is worth it! Your conclusion that the only reason he is batting 4th at AA Bingo(The highest PROSPECT level) is because they have 'USEFUL' players at the A levels is ridiculous. Should he prove his worth and show he is who they thought he could be,Bowman will either contribute at Citifield or as a valuable asset be moved to another Organization. Mako Oliveras,Bingo manager last tuesday said;"Shawn Bowman has to be in the Major Leagues. He has the tools. It is simply a matter of him remaining healthy!" Just to add,he is still considered the best defensive infielder in the Organization, with considerable extra base power potential.

to work on his secondary pitches i guess, this happens with every reliever in the minors. they either pitch a lot of innings or start the game.

eric beaulac another reliever pitched 4 innings.

I agree. When Bowman was drafted if you recall, I said it was a great value pick. He had a very good line drive stroke by most reports, had a very good build and was coachable. His defense at third was not bad.

The reason why he stalled is because of a severe back issue that he seems to be have gotten over from.

I still like Bowman. I think the back issue has hurt his range severly, so he may be best as a DH or 1B, but his bat - if he works on working the count - could net a lot of doubles.
