eh what can you do.

it's a shame the gem pitching prospects are in the lower levels because guys like niese, gee, and antonini being your best major league ready pitching prospects isn't good at all.
Leave Antonini out of the 'not so good' equation!! He hasn't done anything but succeed thusfar. Niese definitely hit a wall and Gee looks like a carbon copy of Brian Bannister however.

antonini has great numbers but he doesn't have great stuff to get mlb hitters out .. think ian kennedy. niese, gee, and antonini are all #5 starters at best.

where as guys like beaulac, holt, calero, mejia, carson, and allen all have front end potential.
Mets 5157,did you WATCH Antonini in spring training? He has an exceptional hook with a decent fastball in the 89-92 range and can command both. I SAW it!!! Did you??

good lord your love for average players is weird ... antonini is no more than a #5 and he's behind the ranking of the mets because they have players with better stuff.

Did you SEE those pitchers with better stuff?? How could you describe and conclude Antonini as average, when you evidently didn't WATCH him and the Organization never intimated the southpaw as such? Conversely,Minaya indicated he is highly regarded and is near ready to pitch at the major league level. What you are obviously doing is compiling mere numbers, subsequently creating a pecking order that may not exist, and defining young talent in a manner that the Organization hasn't. That is weird, unless you are their superscout!!!!

I'm really shocked at Nick Evans. What happened to him? I know he's nothing special as a future everyday player but he's doing horrible after a great spring.
