The Mets are in such dire need of a starting pitcher that GM Omar Minaya hasn't been seen in days. But if I could find Minaya (who's presumably holed up in a room with a phone), I'd make this suggestion: offer Lastings Milledge, Aaron Heilman and Phil Humber to the Marlins for Dontrelle Willis.

I don't know. As much as I like Willis. That is A LOT to give up. The only player I would hate is Humber because I've always liked him. The other two and someone else hopefully.

Then again, I don't think they will get Willis anyway.

Spinkly, I'm replying to the paragraph I'm not talking to you. I'm allowed to give my opinion on something. You can't see what I read anyway so it shouldn't make a difference.

I have no problem giving one of the two rookies for Willis. But no way does anyone get both chips in a deal for one superstar.

Yup. I want Humber to be in the rotation in a year or two. He has got a sweet curveball.

After seeing Milledge in action, I'm not really thrilled about him, I would trade him. Heilman, well I'd trade him. Humber, hmm I really like this kid, but it does tempt me, I just might do this trade.

Oh I like his makeup. He went number 3 because of it. He's unlike Pelfrey in that he HAS a dominant curve ball. That thing goes up and down like crazy, to go with his mid 90's fastball.

He looked like he was a young kid who has the tools. But for Willis, I do it. Humber I wouldn't do.

given that Met starters are something like 9-13 with an ERA just under 7 in their last 27 starts, it is something to strongly consider.

Yeah but we can't give up Humber, Milledge, and Heilman. Humber breaks the deal. Humber was the 3rd overall pick. If not for TJ surgery he might be pitching for us right now.
