Major Leagues |
from metsblpog.com:
According to a league source, Mets 2B Daniel Murphy suffered a right knee sprain in the Arizona Fall League, which is why he has not played since Nov. 10. Murphy had been hitting .397 with 18 RBI in 15 games during the AFL. He has played in 163 games this season, counting his time with the Mets, in the minors and in Arizona. …Update…3:40 pm… “Murphy is scheduled for a precautionary MRI in New York Wednesday or Thursday,” adds Toby Hyde on Mets Minor League Blog, who cites a team source" Let's not let history repeat itself....he has already a;ready played a "full" season.. Let's rest him up,risk no more further damage,nd let him come out with guns blazing in ST! But,knowing the mets history,I am worried they will take the low road.. |

Yeah I don't know why he's even playing winter ball.

The sole purpose of having Murphy play in the AFL was to give him some Reps at 2B. Now fifteen games later his knee is hurting. Hopefully he didn't suffer any structural damage. I shudder to think the Mets brass would send him back to that League should his tests reveal nothing. I agree! SHUT HIM DOWN!!!! |

Well, he was and maybe a little faith can be restored in yet another thing that the Mets get doubted and criticized about before the fact. Patience my friends, patience.

Ironic, isn't it? They have him playing 2b in the AFL even though they have stated emphatically that they have no intentions of moving him there in the bigs. Amazing! |
