Hello all, this is the Mets Prediction Game. A game I created in mid-season 2004. In it you predict on Mets games to gain points and we'll see who is the Grand Champion by season's end. I will keep a running tally of everyone's scores. We will play this game during week-day games only since not everyone is on here during the week-ends. All are free to join. To be fair to all the players, players must post their own predictions. No one is allowed to post a prediction for someone else.

I check prediction posts as they are posted. I do not go back to check for edits.
If a prediction post is to be changed, it must be done so by a new post in the thread that says CORRECTION otherwise the original post will be the one recorded and scored on. Read and follow the rules carefully as I do not correct anyone if you are wrong. This game takes a lot of my time so I need everyone's cooperation with this.

You can begin placing your predictions for Thursday's game starting now until 5 minutes until the scheduled game-time. Everyone feel free to join in.

Points system:
If you are within one run in either direction of the final score = 1 point (For instance- if you predict the score will be 3-1 and it is 3-2 then you get one point.).
For predicting a game score correctly = 2 points.
For predicting a win or loss correctly = 1 point.

Predict how many hits the Mets will have for the game = 2 points

Home Run Predictions (Read the rules!)
You can now make a prediction for who will homer from either team (only 1 player can be named in total, not one from the Mets and one from the opposing team) or you can even make a prediction of no homers!

Points System for Homers:
If you make a prediction of no homers for the game (that means no homers for anyone from EITHER team!) = 3 points
If you predict a Met or non-Met player to homer (only ONE player can be picked and named per game; if more than one player is named then neither player will be recorded as a prediction) = 2 points
**you will receive a 1 point bonus for every extra homer from your predicted homer hitter in a multi-homer game
**non-Met Homer predictions do not affect the Mets loyalty points

Predict the winning pitcher for either team = 2 points (4 points if you correctly predict a relief pitcher as the game winner)

If you make all the predictions correctly, you can make in the range of 9 - 12 points in 1 game! A perfect prediction will get your points doubled as a bonus!

NOTE:
**Players that do not predict a Mets loss all season will be eligible for a Mets Loyalty Bonus of 15 points at the end of the season. However, to ensure that players play more than once to gain these bonus points - to be eligible for the Mets end of the year Bonus points, you must have at least 125 points by season's end.
**To be eligible for post-season play, players must have accumulated at least 175 points. Bonus points will not get you into the post-season. You must get to 175 points without bonus points to get into the post-season.
