Daniel Murphy had an MRI today that revealed a Grade 2 strain of his right hamstring, according to a team press release. Murphy felt discomfort in his leg during batting practice in the Arizona Fall League on Nov. 11. According to the team, Murphy will skip winter league ball in Puerto Rico so that he can be ready for Spring Training.
Thankfully that injury was nothing structural.

might be a good thing. well as good as an injury can be. get him out of winter league and all this and get him ready for 2009 NY Mets.

agreed ... he hasn't had 2 weeks off from playing in over a year. not sure if it's good, bad, or a little bit of both.

This was the smart.."no-brsiner" thing to do... In the past, the mets med staff seemed to be clueless and turn a deaf ear to certain, obvious problems.. Hope this move is the fore runner of a"let us not permit history to repeat itself" type motto.
