i just don't like the idea of sosa being on steriods, using a corked bat, and being hated by his teammates. i just think his bat is starting to slow way down, and his strike outs are gonna rise and his average is gonna drop.
i don't wanna see a .230 35hrs 70rbi 150k's despite 35 hrs i would rather go in another direction
Think of it this way. The Mets have Cameron and are looking for 1 big bat in the outfield. They will try and land Beltran or Ordonez.
They will then have 1 more spot. Hey instead of filling this spot with Spencer or Garcia maybe we can get a guy like Sosa or Guillien.
Either one of those 2 guys will be better then filling that hole with guys like Spencer, Garcia or G Williams.
yea, it would be better than spencer and etc...but i hope we go towards guillen instead of sosa.

just trade for jose guillen and sign ordonez/beltran. and the outfield would be set
Easier said than done. Forget Beltran, he's not coming to the Mets. Ordonez is more likely, but still we'd have to outbid other teams. As for Guillen, I'm not ready to trade prospects for big of a clubhouse cancer. True, Sosa is one also, but not as big, and equal to Floyd who would be gone in the Sosa deal. I'm not saying we need Sosa and should do anything to get him, but if we can dump Floyd for Sosa and have Chicago pay some of his contract then I think its a no brainer. Shelling out 2 or 3 million a year extra for Sosa for 150 games is a lot better than Floyd for 60 games. Omar is not gonna get Sosa and sit back and say this offseason is a success. Sosa would be just a part, and good part if put in for Floyd.

sosa left after the 1st inning of the last game of the season!!!! kerry wood smashed his radio!!! this didn't happen to guillen. he was taken out of the game and questioned the manager. atleast he showed up to all the games!!!!
and beltran is possible, we just have to give him a legit offer.

Then I am all for getting Beltran and or ORdonez vs trading bad contracts. Trade Cliff to the AL I just don't want Sosa. He will be another contract that will come back and bite us. I feel enough with that. If we thought that A-Rod was not worth the money that Bores is asking for then why are we going for Sosa.

These are all good points, its just a matter of opinion. If we could get Mags or Beltran i say no to Sosa. But if there is a choice between Guillen/Floyd and Sosa/Diaz in our OF, i'm taking the Sosa/Diaz combo.
