Good deals for all these teams. Lackey is a bulldog; Halladay will be even nastier in the NL; and the Angels need to replace Vlad. I hope the Yanks reach out to Matsui--he's still their best DH option. Tough break in this for Cliff Lee--comes within a couple games of a WS then winds up with non-playoff team (the Mariners).

mariners should be competitive this year. king felix and cliff lee is probably the best 1 2 combo in the league.
sad to see matsui go. he was the man. it will be interesting to see what the yanks do with damons asking price so high and a lot of viable options for OF/DH
Good call about Felix and Cliff as a 1-2 punch. Pretty nasty. It doesn't appear that these deals include re-upping Halladay (for the Phils) or Lee (for the Mariners) beyond this season. That means both could still hit the FA market next year...?
MLB Network's Hot Stove mentioned that Cust was non-tendered by Oakland. They showed his power, his HR totals in that pitcher's ballpark and his lefthanded swing and mentioned that he'd be a great fit in NY. And now with Matsui gone....
its also being reported that the phillies and halladay agreed to terms for an extension. i think one of the main reasons the phills did this trade is because Lee said he wanted to test free agency and halladay they could extend
