Buster Olney writes in his newest column how at one point during the Torre era, an unnamed right handed reliever actually approached a rival executive and begged him to make a deal with the Yankees for him so he could get away from Torre. It had nothing to do with personalities--he liked Torre fine but he went through relievers like a frat boy goes through kegs. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Scott Proctor--who then again unexpectedly got stuck with him for a season in LA.
