Girardi talks about looking at the big picture.

Well the big picture is, early on the Yanks were gift wrapping a win for the Mets, with the way Joba was pitching: walking guys, hitting guys. In the end, the Mets ended up gift wrapping a win for the Yanks instead.

A gift like this still does not hide the flaws: Starter goes only 4, relief pitching is still a problem, outfield defense is bad.

Yea. you needed a gift to win a game against a half depleted team because you couldn't beat us soundly.

But I feel better today not just because we bounced back but because A-Rod is still the biggest choke artist to come down the pike and (like I said after the A-Rod signing) as long as A-Rod is a Yankee you guys aren't winning a thing.

W&R, that's why Yankee fans are hated so much. They're arrogant, they think it's their GOD given right to win a World Series every year and they have no shame. Yankee fans are always making excuses when they don't win. They can spend all the money in the world on all the best players but look where it has gotten them.

The same could be said for the Mets but we're real fans. We aren't fly by night fans who stick around when we're winning and are nowhere to be found when we're losing.

Don't even waste your time with these bums who think that GOD is a Yankee fan. How dare they use GOD's name in vein.

the yankees will probably make the playoffs because the rest of the AL is weak and there is no good wild card teams that could challenge the yankees but when it comes down to beating good teams the Yankees can't do it. Don't gimme Texas Rangers. Beat the Red Sox and Phillies! Now a good team thats banged up came into your house and won the first 2(castillo booooo). For a team that spends all that money your pitching looks weak. CC is good but everyone else is not. I'll take Pelfrey over anyone but CC on the Yanks.

Ok so whats so amazing about the Yankees rotation? It was supposed to be the best in baseball and it's far from it. They have 1 reliable pitcher. So haha

Right now I'd take Pelfrey over any Yankee starter. He gives you innings and goes deep into games unlike Joba. Burnett walks everyone and also doesn't go deep enough. Wang is awful. What an All-Star rotation. You're probably a Yankee fan who would take Hughes over Pelfrey.

ill take the Yankees rotation over the Mets any day of the week.besides Johan, you dont have any consistant starters.maybe you should worry about your own rotation before you start worrying about other teams.

I never said I wouldn't take the Yankees rotation over the Mets. I just don't see whats so great about the Yankees rotation. I'd say Pelfrey is more consistent then anyone on the Yankees outside of CC. I'll definitely take Burnett, Pettitte, and Joba over the Mets Livan, Redding, Nieve or whoever but I don't see any consistency from the Yankees pitching.

fair point, but the Yankees are still 8 games over 500 with their starting pitching being inconsistant,so thats a pretty good sign.once they do begin to pitch like they can and Wang straightens out, they are going to be tough to beat.
