It seems they don't think Dubi had any respect because he kept punching Richards when he was down, like the way Carcillo did when he stopped hitting Gaborik. Respect, like Carcillo they say. (At least they admit Richards got his azzz kicked, surprisingly) http://www.broadstreethockey.c...binsky-shows-lack-of
there is a code that says a goon shouldn't go after the other teams skilled players and fight them. Well they broke that code, so all bets are off. Don't go after players heads another code, that the flyers are guilty of breaking, and they chose to complain about this. I hope Dubinsky does it to him again
First of all, I figured most Flyers fans have a twitch that prevent them from being able to completely type the word "class" without putting too many other letters in there... Honestly though, there's a difference between Shawn Thorton going against Danny Carcillo as they are two fighters, and as the example given in the blog was the winter classic, they were doing it for momentum and show. Fighters go after fighters because a few right hooks or jabs can lift your bench. There is a level of sportsmanship and "unwritten rules" to those bouts. When Carcillo went after Gaborik, he had already admitted that it was pre-meditated that he wanted a piece of him, because he's scum, and he's lucky the Flyers offered him a contract, because thats the kind of team he belongs on. The rule that applies there should have been that he got his *** handed to him by the third man in... But when a captain of one team goes after a random player on another because they have a history, its mano y mano, no holds bar, and there are no rules. It's "Land as many hits as you can because the other guy has it coming when he's running his mouth and the scoreboard isn't pointing in his favor". This is the exact reason why fighting shouldn't be banned from hockey (not to get off base here). But everyone who is agaisnt fighting thinks that getting rid of it will eliminate the need for guys like Carcillo and Brashear and Prust to be in line-ups. But the truth is that other guys find the need to drop the gloves, too. And if you ban fighting, it will lead to more dirty hits and using sticks as weapons because that will be the new way to retaliate. Dubinsky didn't break any unwritten rules, because he and Richards aren't fighters, they're players. This wasn't a boxing match, it was two competitors playing the game.

Great Post KC, Now don't think I am trying to bond with you. Screw Richards, and Screw Flyer Fans and their players. 3 cheers for Dubi I only wish we could have seen Shelly pound the living Shet out of Carcillo. I am not happy that he got away without any one going after him, but I know the 2 points were the priority, but I still feel Rangers should not allowed him to skate on our home ice without paying for Gaborik.
I read that blog post a couple of hours ago and I laughed at the utter stupid of it all ... they are such hypocrites, Flyers fans should be the LAST to complain about the opposition lacking class ... How quickly they forget all the years that Brashear wore a Flyers jersey when he could still fight ... he had the art of punching players after they were on the ice down to a science ...
Flyers fans are Neanderthals. Screw them, screw the filthy Flyers and screw Mike Richards too. He was first to drop the gloves and got the beating he deserved. I'll bet he thinks twice before he fights Dubinsky again. I would have done exactly what Dubinsky did too, only it would have taken all 4 on-ice officials to drag me off of him. Sore losers...

I couldn't agree more...Dubinsky and Richards aren't fighters or goons or whatever, they are two players/competitors, they don't lead the league in penalty minutes

How ironic, a Philthy Flyers beat writer (Travis Hughes) discussing 'class', 'dignity' and 'rules' in regard to hockey fights and to the Flyers. MUHAHAHAHAHA! Jackass. If the cowardly Flyers feel they have somehow been disrespected when their captain, Mike Richards, dropped the gloves and instigated a fight with the Rangers' Brandon Dubinsky, who then pummeled Richards into submission, there will be ample opportunity for retribution. The teams meet 2 more times, the final 2 games of the season, April 9 & April 11. BRING IT ON! I only hope in the remaining few weeks the Rangers are able to close the gap in the standings between themselves and the Flyers (not too far-fetched an idea when you consider the Flyers' porous, questionable goaltending) so by beating them the final 2 games they would ELIMINATE the Flyers from the playoff picture. That would be sweet!
Love some of the comments I'm seeing on this; "Dubi broke a code? Is there some kind of code about not instigating a fight if you're a pZssy wearing a visor??" "Maybe if Richards had started the fight with a flying shoulder to the head it would have made it more even"
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE seeing Philly fans whimpering about "class" and "codes". It's OK for Dave Schultz to beat a man who NEVER fought (Dale Rolffe) into the ice or for their goon to fight our best player but when their Captain challenges Dubinsky, with their previous history, Dubinsky should stop hitting their guy when he pusses out of the fight he instigated.
