First off, I would like to say that I am very proud to be a part of this group who have basically posted almost everyday since the end of the season last year..It has almost felt like the season didnt end.
Anyway..what is all this talk about Gomez??..Do these rumors even warrant any type of credibility whatsoever?..I mean, we just signed Scotty..he is a good player..and I enjoyed watching him play last year..I think its utterly ridiculous that his name is even coming up in trade rumors..it's a bit frustrating that every where I read about it, people are acting like it's basically in the works.. I dunno about you guys..but I have a weird vibe about this upcoming season..Maybe its because I have no idea what to expect with the new additions and the idea of rebuilding any sort of chemistry.. Anyone feel me? |

I don't know what to make of all of these rumors either. I for one love Gomez and it baffles me that he is included.

the only thing that I can think of is that he was upset over Avery leaving, since I read in a Latino magazine(I was bored at the gym, ok) that he and Sean were best friends. Of course, this is completely unfounded and just an idea.

Put it this way , all these gomez rumors are ALL coming from ekLOLund, meaning its all pure BS just to attract people to his site to"kill off time"

I agree. This offseason has left me with that same "wierd" feeling. Trading Gomez would make that go from wierd to down-right sick. |

Yeah, it's weird. There's something in the air like something's gonna go down - and the more time goes on with no word on anything, the more our minds get going with the crazy stuff.
The key here is for us to be patient and to try to be mildly entertained by these rumors - and not react emotionally to them. During this pre-season idle time, it's hard to do - but it might be best to be kinda Zen about it and simply...see what happens. It's all out of our control anyway.  |

I'm guessing this guy isn't very reliable lol. Why would they trade Gomez? He's what we need: he's still young and he's FAST. He can make plays. I don't believe these rumors at all, Gomez and Drury are set to anchor this team...not KOPITAR or whoever else has been discussed. |

I for one LOVE gomez. If for some strange reason we do sign sundin, I think the only logical person to trade would have to be roszival. it wouldn't help our defensive core out much, but it would give a guy like thomas pock or bobby sanguinetti a chance to be an everyday player. who knows, maybe sanguinetti could turn out to be as good as staal.
If i had it my way right now, I would sign shanahan to a 1 year 1.5 million contract and start the season how we stand. let our team mold together and see what they can do. Zherdev is a sick hockey player, and i have a feeling that he will fill the void Jagr left to an extent. LET'S GO RANGERS!!!! |

Glen is not going to trade a top notch player who can play 10 more years for a player who at the most will play two. I say forget the rumor.

Just for the record Kopitar is awesome. I would love to see him on the Rangers but not at the expense of Gomez. I wouldn't loose to much sleep over it he isn't going anywhere. The only reason I am up so late is because I just caught three little punks trying to egg my house and I am all wound up..They must be Flyer fans. |

The reason alot of people are buying all of this is because everyone thinks gomez is not worthy of his contract. which tells me alot of them slept through math class since giving away gomez and taking back a guy 1 million less and alot less experience with the rangers(not to mention chemistry) isin't a very bright idea. |

I love Gomez. I want him on our team. And I put VERY LITTLE stock in any of these rumors. But Hoss is right. Hank is the only guy on our team right now I wouldn't let go in a deal for Kopitar. The guy has Malkin-like talent.
Not saying it's gonna happen. But if there was any chance of it, it would have to get done. This is a guy you can build a franchise around. Again... not trying to fan the flames or saying I believe the rumors. Just talking 'what ifs' since it's the best we can do for now. |

The reason Camallerri went to the flames is because O'Sullivan has greater potential which made him expendable, all the more reason why we should not believe the trade rumor about LA. The guys that are rumored are special talents and if LA did trade them they would regret it for a long time. Although there names have popped up in other rumors around the league. If there is any truth to Kopitar being moved I agree with Hawaii, the Rangers would have to jump on it and get a deal done. He is that good and so is O'Sullivan for that matter. |
