Regarding what I boldfaced above, that's not the point. It matters not to me what Sather tells the media or the fans as a general rule, b/c there are certain things that are privy to an organization in conjunction with the best interests of the organization, and my interest is in the Rangers winning games, not knowing all the inside info, b/c that is selfish of a fan.

The point is, however, that if Slats had no designs on signing Shanny, the classy and respectful thing to do would have been not to tell the media or the fans, but TO TELL BRENDAN SHANAHAN HIMSELF four weeks ago.

And, in light of how devoted Shanny has been to our organization, it makes what Sather did even more ungracious.
