It's going to be a lot tougher for him now that's on the 3rd line. I feel like Hags has been really lost this entire game. Staal has made some really bad outlet passes too.

Lazy penalties, not much explosiveness...hags will be in torts doghouse by February, I'm calling it.

Overall a lackluster performance. Hopefully they bounce back tomorrow night at home.

The good news is hockey is back. Game one is in the books. We lost, I'm not happy about it but I'm not going to overreact either. It's the first game of the season, so let's not over-analyze and jump to conclusions. We have 47 more games to go.

Bruins were definitely the better, more prepared team...could be because it was THEIR home opener, with a vocal crowd, plus, they are quicker than we are anyway. Aside from Kreider, Hags, Nash and Gabby, we are not a fast team. I know, Del Zotto and McDonaugh have decent speed for D-Men, but we are not fast. All three teams in last years playoffs were faster than we were. Hey, it's only 1 game, but it would not be good to fall behind in this short season. Toronto won tonight so the next 5 games are going to be tough. We have to find a way.

I don't think speed hurt us tonight, but size.

Agreed. We got bounced around a bit. With Asham in the line-up, things might be a little different next time.
