Lay off Hank, it's Kopitar and Smyth, when 4th liners are beating him you have a case, not last night.
Just a sidenote, did anybody catch Sather's shirt and jacket during his interview last night?? Glad to see the Salvation Army is still up and running in LA. |

The Kings have such a well constructed young, hungry, fast team. If they can add Kovalchuk, they could be a serious threat out west.

I noticed Slats..he looks like he shops at Rudy's...vintage stuff..just like Kramer...surprised he wasn't wearing the "Executive"..the beltless trenchcoat
Slats has been retired for years now on D o L a N's dime(s). He really has Jimbo snowed.... |

My son called today from San Diego with more details about the game. We couldn't talk last night during the game because of poor phone reception inside the building, but he called as soon as he left to tell me he had caught the puck on the Matt Greene delay of game penalty in the second period. Today he said when he caught the puck, it was still covered with snow from the rink. How cool is that! He and his wife were sitting between the benches, next to the Kings bench. He was wearing a blue Rangers Sean Avery jersey. He said Avery sat at the end of the bench, maybe 10 feet away, and during the game glanced over at him. They made eye contact and Avery smiled and nodded at him as if to say 'Hey!' There was a little kid sitting in front of him next to the Rangers bench wearing a Henrik Lundqvist replica goalie mask. Michael Del Zotto noticed the kid from the bench and passed his stick over the glass for him to keep...

<- How do you like my new avatar, a picture of Sean Avery on the Rangers' bench taken by my son from his seat at last night's game in Los Angeles vs. the Kings. You may download it and save it if you want...

That he is and you can bet I won't be "laying" off anyone anytime soon, all 5 Capitals goals, on the glove side, take a look for yourself. I don't post to moan and groan rather to be brutally honest and not let my allegiance influence my thoughts which leads me to sometimes write what people don't want to realize. I'll never drink the Kool-Aid and am always going to call it like I see it. Just like the other day when someone posted that Henrik is a top 5 in the league. I respect all opinions but that was just insane and I wrote back how i felt, as unpopular as it may be. He's nowhere near a top 5, maybe 10 to 15, stats are extremely misleading. Can't let blind loyal subjectivity effect your thinking, it will only make you look silly. Anyway, hope you were being sincere in your reply comment because he did nothing but prove me right and if you weren't, then have a good one and this is finished. http://sports.yahoo.com/video/...hd7vLYF#nhl/17983422 |

Stats are misleading? When this team wins, it's usually because Hank has carried them on his back. And he wins with no protection, and names like Redden and Rozy in front of him. Go ahead, name ten goalies better than him..and name guys who are good now and have been good the last five years, as Lundqvist has.

All I keep hearing is thats its always Rozy and Reddens fault----yes---they are way overpaid---but the truth is that Rozy is our 2nd best and Redden is our 4th best defenseman right now. Sad, but true fact |

First of all, there's NO WAY Rozsival is the Rangers' 2nd best defenseman. He is without a doubt the Rangers' 6th best defenseman, prone to soft play, making thoughtless mistakes and taking stupid penalties. Second of all, there's NO WAY Redden is the Rangers' 4th best defenseman, at best he's 5th best but may be as bad as Rozsival. I don't even consider either one of them an NHL-caliber defenseman at this point and both would be out of the league if they weren't playing for the Rangers. But you're right about one thing- they are way overpaid, a combined $10.5 million per year for those 2 stiffs. I thought head coach John Tortorella said "We can live with the rookies making rookie mistakes, but we won't tolerate the veterans making rookie mistakes." Tortorella also said a players' salary would not influence his decision about who would play and who would be benched and scratched. BULL... |
