last night could ignite the devils, but maybe not. They were horrible for the first 57 minutes.

Just as long as you Devils fans understand the Kovalchuk acquisition is only a rental for the remainder of the season and playoffs. When it comes time to PAY him what he's worth, don't expect Lou Lamoriello to step out of character, dig deep into his pockets and pony up tens of millions of dollars...

Hey, I'll say it again...who cares if it's a rental or long term...The Devs play to win EVERY SEASON! The problem with some Rags fans, or NY fans in general (and I AM a NY fan) is the sense of entitlement to all the star players in every sport. As Slats has proven year after year, it isn't about STAR power. It's about getting the right player to suit your needs NOW. As a Devils fan, I'm well aware that we may lose Kovy after the season, but I also know that whether he is here or not, the Devs will put a winning team on the ice. Can RAGS fans say the same?

One more thing about Kovy...

Assuming he doesn't sign with the Devs after the season, I would pray he signed with the Rags. Given the the history of former Devils signing with the Rangers, it would be hilarious reading all the threads cursing the acquisition. Beware the curse of the Devils! Pope

Sorry Lucky, he ain't playing here next year. If Sather wanted him, he would have already overpaid his year, in players, prospects and picks. And for next year he would have rolled out the barrel and bent himself over it.
