I think Zherdev, Gomez, and Redden are gonna end up being our 90+, with Drury at about 89.


I say Redden because he's our only D-man that would be eqivalent to a 90...Staal's got a few more years.

They would probably give rozsival the 90 actually ,Decent defense and he was uhh what 2nd or 3rd in scoring as a defenseman this year?

Neither will be 90s. EA rarely changes there ratings from year to year. Case in point, Hank has been a 87 since they imported him from Frolunda. There lack of attention to detail is frustrating.

that is why they give the glorious ability to go in and make Hank a 95 yourself.

Well i played the NHL 2K9 Demo last night

its nice and flashy until the game starts
(interactive screens , you see CLIPS OF THE HOME TEAM BEFORE THE GAME ON THE ICE,which i thought was AWESOME)

but after that it kinda of got dull , when you score the red wings horn sounds dreadful , yes worse than the devils horn.

the passing imo is WAY too slow to be a fast paced hockey game and it seems pretty easy to score if you get anywhere near the goalie ,since they get some mysterious urge to fly out of the net and try to be a chris osgood.

EDIT - 1 last thing , NHL 09 NEXT TUESDAY!

Ever since it went to next gen system, EA has been the better company at hockey games. I used to prefer the 2K games but their way to slow for my tastes now. I'll probably pick 2k9 eventually but NHL 09 is coming next week!

The one thing I do like is the passing. You can actually set how hard u want to passes. Its not like NHL where u hit the pass button and its always the same speed.

IDK if you played it with pro stick evolution... but the "pro stick" is definitley nowhere near as polished as the NHL series. The defensive skill stick was nice, and the hitting was really realistic. I made an awesome hip check that flipped the guy over.

Glaring defects is the skating animation is horrible, the game is way to slow. I even slow down the NHL sliders to make it more realistic, but this is just sluggish. The rink is to pointed, the boards behind the net curve to much and come to a point. When you look at replays of you shooting, the puck isn't even on your stick half the time! Plus the player models are horrendous. I didn't know humans had square shoulders. As a person who has made 3d models and characters for classes, college students with less experience could make better models.

NHL 09 is leaps and bounds ahead of 2k9 and I didn't even get to play NHL 09 yet.

I wonder why NHL 09 didn't release a demo.

The demo is on PS3 right now(actually played it. pretty sick.), they said 360 will get it in "early september"

aww that is total BS!! post a video if you can man , i've checked xbl and theres still no demo as of sep 3rd morning time

I would post a video except the PS3 I D/Led the demo on is at my boys house. (i forced him to download it.) speaking of that though, the download took about a half hour. and then another 10 min to install the demo, just another reason why i love my 360.

You start out in a training mode, then you have the choice to play the 3rd period of a Pens Wings game. or be a pro mode where you are controlling zetterberg for a period. its pretty ridiculous.

Its out on 360 ,it took me like 10mins to get it and play ,anyway.

Looks pretty sick not to mention crisp in the graphics department.

1 thing i was wondering was the goal horns and they did a alright job with detroits ,its kinda short but its simular.

the thing i hate though is it looks like you HAVE to deke only one on one because my dekes NEVER WORKED its like the AI was on superstar mode.

Just played the demo. AMAZING. The new skill stick moves on offense and defense are superb. The puck physics and checking are great. Only gripe is that the camera is lil higher than last year.

I cant stand the new skill stick , because of the new 1 hand dekes i can perform my old dekes! lol.
