A lockout doesn't only effect owners and players, the ramifications go far deeper. Besides the obvious, FANS, many jobs are contingent upon a season being played. This isn't new, it's been argued and proven many times over.

I bumped into an interesting article regarding another casualty of a potential lockout; The Winter Classic. It's short, to the point and a rather informative look into the details of cancelling the match. Enjoy.

A Clause That Could Salvage the Winter Classic

Bettman, Fehr and the Idea of an Industry Growth Fund

Call me stupid, I'll accept it but I just don't understand any of this. The prospective lockout looming larger and larger everyday and both sides fighting over hundreds of millions of dollars.

Free-agent defenseman Matt Gilroy signed a AHL deal yesterday to play for the Connecticut Whale, the Rangers’ top farm team,. The 28-year-old Long Island native could sign an NHL deal to return to the Rangers after the lockout. He first signed with the Rangers out of Boston University in 2009, left the Rangers for Tampa in 2011, and was traded to Ottawa last February.

I always liked him, don't think he got a fair shot from torts, maybe this time around will be different...
