Yet another blown lead overtime (s/o) loss !

The Islanders exactly as have the Mets just continue to blow leads and lose games at the end time and time and time again .
consider ..

The islanders have a grand total of 13 losses

The Islanders now have 7 overall overtime losses and 6 regulation losses.

Of the 6 regulation losses 4 came in games in which the Islanders held a 3rd period lead.

11 of a total of 13 losses have come at or near the end of the game.

End game losses are always the most frustrating and brutal of losses.

If You are also a mets fan as am I You are fully aware of the rip Your Heart losses We have had to endure over the past years .

The Islanders are doing the same thing to their fans as the Mets have done to their fans
in mind numbing frequency.

There's nothing left of My sports fan heart to rip out anymore.

The Islanders have only 4 regulation wins on the season and out of a possible 40 points available in their first 20 games the Islanders
have allowed an astounding 29. ( 13 losses and 3 ot wins

Thanks for another one Metslanders !

You are mistaken,Brains. The Isles actually have only lost 4 games in competitive OT. I don't pay much attention to the NHL version of free throw shooting and field goal kicking. The true measure of team performance ends after the five minute OT,as it did when ties were valued. Hockey is a grueling sport with many ebbs and flows. While it is evident the Isles still need backline help, they have had a surprisingly decent 1/4 season thusfar. Never would they have maintained their point, taking the opposition into OT last season. No doubt they aren't strong enough to consitently protect leads yet,but they have indeed made progress. Going into tonights game, should the season have ended, they would be the 7th seed in the conference, qualifying for the playoffs. Could you have predicted that before the bell rang? I don't think so. Will they progress further? That remains to be seen. Although I wish they could have held onto their early lead tonight,I didn't forget they battled back from a two goal deficit in the 3rd period. Again, that NEVER would have happened last season.

I'm looking at the glass half full here. This team is definitely an enjoyable, if somewhat maddening watch. However, its always nice to see something develope nicely from its infancy as this current team seems to be doing.

Personally I'd sign up for a nice effort, continued developement, and a bigggg tank job to procure another top seven or eight type draft pick. Everyone wins!!!
