Boy has Eli made me eat crow. I am here to say I was dead wrong about this kid. I never thought he had it in him. I am sure you have all read my Threads trashing Eli, that we got a last name only.
Well Eli if you are listening, TonyG was dead wrong. This kid has grown and is the franchise quarterback I never thought he could be. Sure this is some team, with all kinds of weapons, but he has taken control of this team, and it is his team now. He is the leader of this team. A quiet leader but a true leader. Way to go Eli. |

As a Jet fan, Eli has definately improved from what he used to be. Surprisingly, he turned it around last yr at the right time when the playoffs started.

glad you've changed ... he'll never be a fantasy qb with the nice numbers but he wins games and makes the plays when you need them.
down 3 points in the 4th with 2 minutes to go ... there's not other qb in the nfl i'd rather have than eli to win the game. he's also shown a lot of emotion this year .. he has at times shown frustration to his players and has yelled at them. |

As long as that Line protects his tail,he had better put up pro bowl numbers and get back to "Super bowl statise".......

Eli proved last year that he is a much better QB then most people thought he would be. While he isn't up there with Brady or his Brother, Eli is slowly living up to the name Manning

Eli will never have the stats to win an MVP. The beautiful thing about Eli is that he doesn't care. Seems that all Eli wants is to do his job well and help the team succeed.
Kurt Warner is the MVP...where would the Cards be without him? |

I wouldn't say he is better then his brother, Did Eli break the record for most TD's thrown? no, until Eli starts to break his brothers records I can't say he is better then his bro |

Pretty funny, my wife, who doesn't really care for football anyway, has listened to me b itch, moan and curse out Eli for years, anyway, flipping through the channels last Sunday night, the Colts are on, my wife recognizes Peyton, and I say;"Eli is SOOOO much better than Peyton". Needless to say, I was the one getting cursed at after that.
I gotta say, Eli has been impressive, he's even running when he has some daylight now, I love it. He did get saved an INT though yesterday when the 2 skins DBs collided. Total domination by the Giants, the skins scored only after the bogus call on Webster took his INT away. |

Warner plays in a god awful division where his team could lose the remainder of their games and still clinch the division. Eli's team is 11-1, and are on a roll now. When you consider the last second TD to force OT vs. the Bengals and the drive in OT for the game winning field goal; the 4th down pass to Toomer against the Steelers; Going to Arizona with a 3 TD performance with no Jacobs and no Burress; coming to DC on a day Fed Ex Field was sky high and killing it with that opening drive yesterday, there isn't much of a margin between 11-1 and 8-4. I'd put Eli up against anyone. |

Ew, as much as I love hearing that because the kid deserves praise after shouldering so much blame early in his career, I just think the MVP award is more about stats and a fantasy football mentality than anything else.
But I agree Eli is a great quarterback, as much as haters try to resist admitting it. |

Drew Brees has been great this season, but guess what, his team is not winning. Im not saying he is better then his brother, but basically this all comes down to who wins the game, not how many TD passes. Eli has 1 superbowl and so does Peyton. We shouldn't really compare these two, because I think Eli has learned so much from his brother. The way that he changes the play calls, as if he really knew what the defense was bringing...is amazing. He probably got that preparation technique from his big bro. Jets and GIANTS in the superbowl... or Peyton verse Eli this superbowl... |
