This an idiotic thread and so is anyone who wants Plaxico back. First of all, his presence wouldn't have made much of a difference yesterday. Secondly, the both of you have obviously forgotten the fact that Plaxico is facing criminal charges and there is a good chance that he is looking at some jail time. Third point, even with all of his abilities as a wide receiver, the guy is a selfish, immature, undisciplined thug and a chronic malcontent who has let his team down on numerous occasions with his behavior. And you want this guy back??? Yeah, and while we're at it let's bring Jeremy Shockey back as well. Please get a clue.

Jerry Reese is with the both of us on this, so I guess he is an idiot also. If Plax is able to come back, then I am one of the many fans that will support him when he returns.
Your the idiot for even bringing up Shockey.

– Giants GM Jerry Reese said that, after Sunday’s season-ending playoff loss, that the team was considerably weaker without WR Plaxico Burress. The Giants went 4-5 after losing Burress for the year in Week 13. Asked if Plax could be let back in 2009, Reese said “If everything goes alright, yeah. Absolutely.”

Well Jerry Reese is wrong and so are you. Yes, Plaxico's talents are an asset to the Giants. Now ask yourself this very important question: WHY was Plaxico out of the Giants' lineup for half the season? Answer: because he let his team down by acting like the empty-headed thug that he is. A player who cannot be trusted or counted on by his teammates is ultimately a liabilty no matter how good a player he is. If you don't believe me, just look at players like Pacman Jones and Terrell Owens and the chaos they've caused on every team they've played for. As good as they are, are they worth the trouble that they cause? No they aren't, and neither is Plaxico. When you keep garbage around for too long it starts to stink.

Here is a question for you:
Do you know why you do not put him in the same category as Pacman and Owens??
Here is the answer Double R aka, the Giants new GM:
Because they have never won a Superbowl.
Plax has made it through the playoffs without any distractions and has brought Giant fans excitement.
Its very simple, if we are going to keep Eli as our QB, then we need to keep Plax. We have what it takes to win another Superbowl...and that is if we have that playmaker at the WR position. There is no clear Calvin Johnson in this years draft, so our best bet is to bring back Plax.

Well Jerry Reese is wrong and so are you.
Why even question this guy at this point??

I see that you are conveniently refusing to address the 800-pound elephant in the room which is Plaxico's ongoing behavioral problems. His behavior is the whole reason that Plaxico hasn't been in the Giant's lineup for half the season, and yet you keep yammering about how much Eli needs him. Plaxico has a history of behavioral problems going back to when he was with the Steelers. Plaxico obviously hasn't grown up, in fact, his behavior has gotten progressively worse not better. So tell me, how can Plaxico possibly help Eli and the Giants if he obviously can't stay out of trouble?

You can't bring him back, knowing how selfish he is, his thought process now is probably along the lines of;'They need me, look what happened without me', which would put him in the position to be late and show up whenever he feels like it. No thanks. Hopefully someone is willing to trade a draft pick for him.

There's no question that Plax being on the field makes us a better team, and I know that Reese left the door open for him...

but he still faces criminal charges, and it's surely not a given that he will even be able to PLAY next year...let alone come back to the Giants.

That being said...

If he cleaned up his act, I'd take him back. But he ACTUALLY HAS TO GET IT TOGETHER. And to be honest, I know anyone can change and all...but I truly don't know if Plax would be WILLING to change.

And if he's not willing to change, then kc is right on: hopefully you can trade him to an Oakland or a Cincy for a pick.

Plaxico has all the talent in the world, he makes us a better team and with other teams having to double him most of the time that leads to other WR being open(Smith, Hixon ect) It showed on Sunday how much the loss of Plax hurt. However talent aside Plax isn't worth all the trouble he brings. I'd look to do with Plax that we did with Shockey get him out of here.

Trade him for a pick and maybe sign a stop gap WR or bring in one of the younger guys(Moss) and lets not forget we still have Tyree for next year too

No way. The minute the Giants went out of their way to give Plax a big contract amendment, he started acting like a real first rate jerk.

Ultimately cost the city a chance at another parade.

Let's go out and get Boldin or TJ Housh or any legit #1 WR who isn't an immature, unreliable prima donna.

Houshmandzadeh would be a good fit but I bet Cincinnati would want a lot for him. I'd go after Boldin if I'm the Giants

Any team that loses its #1 WR is gonna be in trouble, no matter what his name is. Get rid of Burress and bring in another #1 WR, TJ Housh or Boldin would fit nicely, and this team would be fine.
