I'm glad Favre is out. He could have given the Vikes a shot to win but he throws an interception.
Same old Favre would also announce he's retiring. Then he'll join the Bears for next season. Can't wait to see him as a Detroit Lion. |

Agreed Grote.
I'm not as bitter towards Favre as most Jet fans but seeing him get eliminated was pretty nice and seeing a franchise like the Saints who haven't had much to celebrate in thier history make it to thier first Super Bowl is pretty cool. Congrats to them and I hope the Saints take care of Peyton. |

Well I'm bitter. I gotta tell ya though, watching him tonight, I felt as if I was going to be like one of those Russian fans in Rocky IV. I mean the man was getting the crap kicked out of him and he STILL answered the bell every single time. It really was admirable and even a bit heroic.
Just the same, there's nothing like a Jet fan scorned and after what he did to us, (even though we knew he would) I can't in good (or is it bad?) judgement root for this guy. I feel like I was really used and as a Jet guy (and a partime cheesehead) I just won't feel good if this guy wins. A real shame too because his leadership skills for any team are such a pleasure to watch. Does have a tendancy to want to run the team though, something I really don't like. |

I'm bitter as hell at the phony! His Sarah Bernhardt like disingenuous B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T wore thin with me. I couldn't bear the thought of him moving on to the Super Bowl after wasting a season with him at the helm ,then having him stage a retirement once again at our expense! No doubt he is magnificant, but it was sweet to see him throw a trademark interception when at the cusp of setting his team up for a game winning field goal. Perhaps he will simply return for another season without the fanfare. I am not counting on it. Conversely I am counting the days until the crocodile tears run down his face once again while he announces yet another farewell and adds to his saga of BULL droppings!!!

news flash!! brett farve never wanted to be a jet, they were one of the only teams the packers would let him go to.
plus you guys forget the guy played with a pretty nagging injury especially for a quaterback. and did the team and gm and coach get some heat for him playing after the fact by the nfl? maybe if he was not chased out of town and blamed for all that was wrong with the team he would have came back for another year, maybe. its funny how he came back this year healthy with a new team and new players and once again he performed well, and if he did not get his ankle injured as well as his team going fumble happy, we might have very well been seeing him going to the bowl in 2 weeks. i bring this up only because i feel your pain, not because i am a jet fan but because i too root for a team that comes up short year after year after year and that creates a bitterness that somehow translates into blamming someone or something. but beleive me when i tell you that this time is the exception to the rule, and i don't think there is anyone to blame or put the burden on. the jets far exceeded their expectations this season and to make it to the conference championship game with a rookie qb and coach and a whole new system is a remarkable accomplishment and unlike other successes in the past i do not think this time compares. first off you got a coach that is only gonna get better and not going anywhere in the foreseeable future and also have a young qb that shows promise as well as has a ton of football ahead of him and mix that with a team that as a whole is pretty young and i think you guys will have a lot to look forward in the comming seasons. i think this years buzz more then rivals the season when they went to the championship game with parcells because everyone new parcells based on his history was a rental and when he had the team he filled it with ageing veterans to make it easier for him to impliment his system and have quicker success and as a result left the team with no future, and this year was the polar opposite. so, in short, you guys got nothing to feel bad about, your team did well and you should be proud of what they did and i think unlike any other year it proves that it won't be the same old jets no more. congradulations on a solid year and good luck in the future for continued success. |
