So, Vince made an announcement on ECW on Tuesday that in 3 weeks ECW will end and a new revolutionary show will take its place.

Word has it that this show will be called WWE NXT (for next generation) and as of now the speculation is that this will be a show where we see all the development wrestlers and personalities come up through before making their way to SD or RAW.

ECW as it was now was already this concept except for the smattering of veterans that were there to help train the newbies. So, will there be a champ for this division? Otherwise, what are they fighting for?

There's no doubt that WWE needs to bring up fresh young talent as their stars begin to age but can a WWE style show with only newbies make it or get better ratings than the ECW they already messed up? We'll have to wait and see but WWE creative and Vince's whims to change things and stop things that are working (New Breed, etc.) don't usually spell good things for newbies in WWE. But we have gotten a lot of exceptions such as Sheamus, Kofi and Punk who all started in ECW so we'll see.

What do you all think of this WWE NXT concept?

my concept is FINALLY

i've been waiting forever for guys like heath slater and justin angel to make it to the wwe. i just hope danielson doesn't go on it, he's above it and i hope they continue his storyline with straight edge society in the future

heath has been wrestling dark matches forever and suprisingly draws heat in dark matches. angel is a high flying guy but he's not a cruiserweight, he's 220+ and the heavyweight champion and that means something

sheamus, drew mcintyre, heath slater, eric escobar, and justin angel were fcw champions. the only one who's gone is escobar and that's because of his backstage attitude.

I know I'm unpopular with my opinion, but Vince ruined ECW, which was GREAT as it was. Was it him? Was it Steph? I don't care. ECW has been the WWE version of A-ball for some time.
I miss Paul Heyman, RVD, Sabu, The Sandman, Tazz, etc.
I have grown to hate Vincent Kennedy McMahon; egotistical SoB.....and I have watched him since the WWWF days....

ECW died the day Heyman sold it to Vince.anyone who thinks it didnt is nuts.the ECW we have been watching past few years was lame compared to Heymans ECW.

i have a feeling this WWE NXT will end up failing, big time.

So

what is to happen to current ECW workers ?

who gets released ? Who goes to other shows ?

Christian and His championship ? Will the ECW title simply be retired ?

many unanswered questions .

Vince never believed in the old ECW and had delusions of turning what he bought into some hybrid version of ECW and WWE. RVD says that he knew that the old ECW was dead the day Vince told him that the fans chant ECW, ECW, ECW because he taught them to do that. Doh

The first version of WWE ECW was where it should've stayed with at least one or two hardcore matches per show. When Big Show was ECW Champ and turned along with Heyman's help, that was good stuff! Big Show's reign was a good one because he was allowed to be vicious. Guys like Hardcore Holly fighting a match for almost 15 minutes after suffering a huge gash in his back helped back up the ECW legend but then Vince saw that the ECW chants were getting louder and we all know that Vince has disdain for anything not created by him and he saw that it was setting itself apart from RAW and SD (as it should) so he acted to water down ECW. Instead of seeing the money potential, he spites himself because of his ego. Mallet

Christian will go in the record books as the last ever ECW Champ. Of course, he is also the longest reigning current Champ in the WWE of all the Champs and he goes to RAW last night and gets pinned clean by Sheamus. Just moronic booking. All that shows is that all the current ECW wrestlers who will be free agents as Christian told us last night, will not have any spots on the new shows and be coming in like newbies which is just stupid. Sheamus gets treated like a guy with no record in WWE when he comes from ECW even though he had a loss to Goldust while in ECW.

I read that the idea of NXT will be something that Syfy has asked for from WWE and something WWE has been working on for a while and pitching to SyFy. It will be a reality show type program where we get to meet and see the wrestlers (reportedly to get to know them) as they go through the training, real-life, etc. and as they go up the WWE ladder before moving onto RAW or SD. Interesting concept that has sort of been done with Tough Enough and with the old original ECW storylines so we'll see how it goes.

i hope they show trent barreta and how him and curt hawkins grew up together in long island.

but then that'll ruin the whole croft and barreta are childhood friends when croft is 29 and barreta is 22.

I hope Trent and Baretta just disappear back to FCW where they belong. A loss to sometime tag team Goldust and Tatsu by the "tag specialists" is pretty much all we need to know about whatever plans WWE has for them.

Looks like Curt Hawkins is coming to NXT though.

While new roster assignments have not all been finalized, the plan at press time was to keep the key duos and teams (Barreta and Croft, Ryder and Mendes, Regal and Jackson) together when redistributing them across the RAW and SD rosters. That could certainly change, however.

rosters have been revealed, not 100% finished

NXT will have guys like daniel bryan(danielson's new name), low ki, heath slater, justin angel, joe hening, brett dibiase, and a few others but they're irrelevant.

now who goes to what brand as of right now christian, trent barreta, and caylen croft go to smackdown while william regal, big zeke, zack ryder, and rosa mendes go to raw.

Do You know other things like how long will

Will NXT be an ongoing series with diferent rookies / pros being featured after the intial run through or is this a one and done deal ?
