Like it is so well put in Rev Theory's official song for WrestleMania XXIV, "Light It Up"...
"It’s on tonight so hold on cuz we’re about to light it up!!!" "The greatest Sports Entertainment spectacular of all-time," it's time for WrestleMania XXIV  So without further adu, let's make our predictions for WrestleMania XXIV:  WWE Championship Match Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs. John Cena PREDICTION: Triple H wins the WWE Title. I think there's no way Triple H would agree to put Cena over in this match. It's too bad everyone knows Randy has no shot to retain the title. It'll come down to either Triple H or Cena, and I'll give Triple H the edge. Hunter put John over at WM22, I don't believe that will happen again. If Cena does go over, you can bet the house it'll be at Randy Orton's expense.  World Heavyweight Championship Match Edge vs. The Undertaker PREDICTION: The Undertaker wins the World Heavyweight Title and extends his WrestleMania streak. Although I will give Edge an outside, albeit very outside, shot to beat The Undertaker. A case can be made for Edge to go over, I believe.  Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs. The Big Show PREDICTION: Floyd Mayweather in a match that STILL has not been defined. I'm not expecting this to be anything, so if we get something other than garbage I'll enjoy it, a little. I hope it doesn't take too much time away from the show. Do it and get it over with.  Career Threatening Match Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair PREDICTION: Shawn Michaels in a match I'm REALLY looking forward to. Because of the nature of the match and because I'm anxious to see what Michaels and Flair can put together, as far as the match is concerned, and how good it is.  "Money in the Bank" Ladder Match John Morrison vs. CM Punk vs. Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. MVP vs. Chris Jericho PREDICTION: Chris Jericho...I have this feeling they're going to put him over and I don't like that. I want to see MVP go over! I think "they" will put Jericho over.  SmackDown vs. RAW Match Batista vs. Umaga PREDICTION: Batista...I think he'll go over because well, he just will. It would be nice to see Umaga go over a high profile guy like Batista on a WrestleMania stage.  24 Man Battle Royal with the winner facing ECW Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Title ECW Heavyweight Championship Match Chavo Guerrero vs. ??? PREDICTION: Kane to win the Battle Royal and Chavo to retain ECW Title...ugh, I don't like that.  Belfast Brawl Match Finlay vs. JBL PREDICTION: JBL...Finlay can't lose in his own match can he? I'm guessing they'll have JBL win so they can drag out this program. Maybe a rematch at Backlash.  BunnyMania Lumberjack Match Beth Phoenix & Melina vs. Ashley & Maria PREDICTION: The Glamazon and Melina. Great, now Candice is out and this match has a lot less appeal. I'm halfway wondering if WWE would actually shock all the "know-it-alls, including myself" and put Flair over and have him retire after the match. In a "going out on top" fashion. But then you have to remember that Flair said he would NEVER retire, so that would go against that storyline. There was brilliant build-up for this match on RAW this week. I think Shawn and Ric are going to give us a classic, I just have that feeling. I think Ric is going to show that he can still have a good to great match one last time. |

Main event: I can't bet against Cena. personally i think it's obvious that randy orton has the most to gain from all this and i wish he'd win. but after what happened at the royal rumble, i'm gonna go with cena. -Undertaker isnt losing -Big show wins but it's gonna be some kinda BS ending -HBK wins, obvious -MITB: a little too early for MVP and CMpunk. they could shock everybody by having morrison win it, but i'm gonna guess jericho. -batista wins, obvious -Kane wins and beats chavo, but who cares -finlay wins, obvious -maria's team wins, obvious i'm gonna watch the show anyway because my friends and are splitting it. but i find it a fairly easy-to-call card. hopefully they surprise me. |

 WWE Championship Match Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs. John Cena PREDICTION: Everyone is expecting HHH and everyone is tired of Cena so I'll go with Orton winning and retaining his title. World Heavyweight Championship Match Edge vs. The Undertaker PREDICTION: UT is old and gets hurt a lot and is he open to all the traveling needed to defend the belt at every house show? UT doesn't need the win and if someone is to end UT's streak then Edge is a very good candidate. Edge has his own WM streak going and he hasn't lost to UT. It'd be nice to have Edge be that one guy that UT can't beat so I'll go with Edge. Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs. The Big Show PREDICTION: Mayweather is the heel in this and being the celebrity I expect him to win but they have to be careful how its booked so it doesn't hurt TBS's push as a monster. If Mayweather wins, it may be by introduction of a new monster for TBS to feud with post-WM. Career Threatening Match Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair PREDICTION: I predict an emotional match beyond compare. I can't wait for this match. When they tuned into Flair backstage after his tribute video last night, he was fighting hard to keep from crying. Post-match is going to be incredible. HBK wins but Flair is going to have the match he wants to retire with.  "Money in the Bank" Ladder Match John Morrison vs. CM Punk vs. Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. MVP vs. Chris Jericho PREDICTION: Its time for Punk to rise. SmackDown vs. RAW Match Batista vs. Umaga PREDICTION: Batista will win by DQ and the feud will continue on SD when Umaga switches brands. 24 Man Battle Royal with the winner facing ECW Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Title ECW Heavyweight Championship Match Chavo Guerrero vs. ??? PREDICTION: Mark Henry wins and beats Chavo for the ECW title? Hard to see Chavo lose the title in his first WM title defense but I would like to see Mark Henry as ECW Champ. Then have Elijah align with him. Belfast Brawl Match Finlay vs. JBL PREDICTION: Finlay will bloody and beat JBL. BunnyMania Lumberjack Match Beth Phoenix & Melina vs. Ashley & Maria PREDICTION: Beth and Melina shouldn't lose as a former and current Champ so I'll go with that. |

World Heavyweight Championship Match Edge vs. The Undertaker PREDICTION: I see no reason for UT's WM streak to end, I say he gets to run with the belt 1 more time Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs. The Big Show PREDICTION: This isn't a match its just thugs thinking they can fight with the big boys. I hope TBS wins but I doubt it Career Threatening Match Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair PREDICTION: I would love to see nothing more then Ric go out on top, however if Flair HAS to lose this match I think HBK is the guy to do it "Money in the Bank" Ladder Match John Morrison vs. CM Punk vs. Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. MVP vs. Chris Jericho PREDICTION: I've said it before and I'll say it again. MVP all the way! I think this kid is an up and coming young guy and its time for a Major push, this will be a nice way to start that push. SmackDown vs. RAW Match Batista vs. Umaga PREDICTION: Really don't care about this match but if I had to pick a winner I'd say Batista for 2 reasons, he is the Face in this match and they seem to always(or most of the time) put SD(the weak brand imo) over 24 Man Battle Royal with the winner facing ECW Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Title ECW Heavyweight Championship Match Chavo Guerrero vs. ??? PREDICTION: I think Kane wins this and wins the ECW title from Chavo Belfast Brawl Match Finlay vs. JBL PREDICTION: This will just be a fight, right up Finlay's ally. Thus he will get the win BunnyMania Lumberjack Match Beth Phoenix & Melina vs. Ashley & Maria PREDICTION: We as the Fans are the real winners here. |

Brain, I like your ideas but the HHH/Cena scenario you mention can't happen. There is no way HHH could do a pin on Orton if Cena had him in the STFU since Orton would be face down on the mat and his shoulders would not only be nowhere near the mat but also blocked by Cena.
I like how you had that UT could win yet Edge could still retain I also like your idea for TBS match with Floyd doing the undercut, the only thing is that I don't think Floyd could reach TBS jaw if Show had him overhead. Cool idea though. As for Colin Delaney winning the ECW battle royal - he can't, he's not in the match since he didn't win a contract last week! |

Wow, Diehard...I think the "carrying the belt at every house show" should not be underestimated. You think The Undertaker would actually allow that to go over? As far as Randy Orton is concerned, I think there are a lot of people...including myself...that would LOVE to see him retain. A lot of knowledgable wrestling fans, I believe, want to see that. Randy has looked SO weak going into this WrestleMania, it would be a shame to see him lose the match after looking so bad leading into the big event. Question is, if that were ever the case, who puts him over? Triple H or Cena? I think this match will be very interesting, to see exactly who's willing to put who over. But I can't personally see Triple H leaving the Citrus Bowl without the title. |

6 out of 10 correct - not bad. Had it not been for the battle royal and subsequent Chavo title loss I might have done even better!
 WM was very good! Finlay lost to JBL in a very physical yet strangely non-bloody match. That feud continues on RAW tonight! The MITB match was very good. That match is always one that I love and hate, love it cause its great but hate it because I always cringe with each high spot they do. That X ladder setup they had was cool. Morrison's moonsault with a ladder in his hands was insane!!  Matt Hardy blew the roof off the place when he showed up. What a reception and what a way to come back. Hey cost MVP his shot so that feud is back on hardcore now! I called Punk in the MITB match back when he was still champ and not even a consideration for the match!  Batista v. Umaga wasn't as hardcore as I thought it might get. This is not over though, that feud has just begun. Chavo got destroyed by Kane and Kane finally gets HW gold around his waist. Been a long time! Good for Kane. Flair v. HBK - HBK gave him everything he had and then some. He almost broke himself in half as JR would say with that moonsault onto the announcers table  Flair stepped it up one last time and a lot of the match played like one of his classic matches from back in the day. When I saw Flair get up crying I knew the end was at hand, seeing HBK say sorry and I love you to Flair as he superkicked his career away was very emotional. Reid Flair was a wreck at the HOF, as was his sister - it continued after the match. They were so proud of their Dad and understood what this all meant to him. That was wonderful to see. Classy of the announcers and the setup to not have any music or talking while he was leaving up the ramp. It let the moment sink in for Flair and his fans. Very emotional. I just selfishly wish he had given one last whoo before he left to the back. The Bunnies match was ok for what it was and the rightful winners won. Orton winning helped to cement his status and credibility as Champ and one of the WWE elite. Cena did the job which was interesting since HHH was the one in his corner. Just goes to show that Cena will do whatever is best for the business and doesn't deserve what he gets for doing what he's told to do. This 3 way feud is just beginning as well. Floyd made a Hogan like comeback to come back to life and score a brass knucks KO on TBS. That's the main problem I had with it. Had he done a Flair and pull out knucks out of nowhere to nail TBS by surprise for the KO then that would've been better IMO. Edge gave it all he had but the almighty UT of course had to win.  All in all, it was a very good WM. I absolutely loved the venue and how they set it up. The fireworks were a great touch. I think that next time they go there I will be going! |
