from a site:

Some additional details have been released regarding Jeff Hardy's 60 day suspension from WWE that was announced by the company this week.

Jeff Hardy knew he was being suspended before Raw. According to reports, Hardy had a meeting with Vince McMahon before the show about the suspension and was noticeably not happy when it ended.

According to multiple sources, Hardy's drug test failure was not for a body enhancing substance.

With this being a 60 day suspension and his second violation of the Wellness Policy (his first taking place last year in August 2007), it is possible WWE could suspend Hardy indefinitely until he successfully completes a drug rehab program.

As noted yesterday, Hardy has been pulled from WrestleMania 24 and the "Money in the Bank" Ladder Match.

According to WWE sources, the feeling many people got from Jeff was that he still doesn't think he has a problem and would rather leave the company than go to rehab.

It'll be interesting to see HOW they announce that at the height of his popularity that Jeff is no longer involved in the MITB match. They have to do it in a way as to not bury Jeff should he come back in 60 days yet still explain him away.

they absolutely SHOULD bury him. and not just bury him in the way of announcing that he got suspended, when he gets back he should be completely buried. he goes back to the bottom of the pile...

if he works his way back up then great but he sure as heck shouldn't step back into the same spot he is leaving. that sends the WRONG message. you should not be sending the message that getting caught means a 2 month vacation and then we'll pretend like nothing happened. there should be long term reprecussions...

and imo wwe is planning to do that cause the way the wellness policy is setup they can allow a guy to continue to appear on tv and ppvs so if they wanted they could have had hardy still appear at WM win MITB.

now i'm not saying that he should be fired, if he goes to rehab and gets his act together i'm all for giving a guy a second chance, or third chance in this case. but i think he has to work his way back up and re-earn that spot.

so its not roids if that report is true, but i don't think anyone suspect him of being on the juice.

the question then becomes was it recreational drugs or pain-killers...if it was purely recreational drugs then he's an idiot and deserves little sympathy for getting suspended...but if its pain-killers cause he kills his body for the fans and can't move without them then i'd be a bit more understanding

on the MITB match, i'm wondering if MVP was the guy added to replace jeff hardy. we all thought it was odd that he qualified at a house show when everyone else has qualified on tv...that makes me speculate that they never planned on having him qualify and when they found out about hardy instead of changing the plans for smackdown they just added him to the match.

i'm starting to think batista is gonna beat MVP and take the united states title ....i mean c'mon aside from these last 2 weeks when was it defended? MVP is getting VERY lame and now that he's in the MITB match it should be defended in 1 way or another AT WRESTLEMANIA

First off Leetch, as usual we're on the same page regarding Jeff having to earn his spot back.

Next, its seems to be recreational drugs or alcohol abuse as this has been his problem in the past. Matt wrote something in his MySpace blog regarding 2 people close to him that he's worried about because as he put it they are currently swimming in deep waters and they don't know how to swim. If Matt is worried, then its something that Jeff needs to get some tough love over and get himself to rehab. Can't be high or drunk and getting in the ring to do what he does. It seems that something similar is happening to Ashley, who was sent home a few weeks ago for being in bad shape backstage.

Things are worse for Jeff as his Cameron, NC home burned to the ground taking his pooch and possessions with it. I hope his bro grabs him and makes sure he stays with him.

quote:

Just days after being suspended from WWE due to another drug violation, there's even more bad news for Jeff Hardy.

Last night, his home in Cameron, North Carolina burned to the ground. Hardy and his girlfriend were not home when it happened, but virtually everything Hardy owned was destroyed. Sadly, his pet dog was lost in the fire. No further details are available at this time.

Jim Ross reports the same from his website.

quote:

The fall out of the 60 day suspension of Jeff Hardy for a second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy is still making news. Sadly, Friday night, Jeff’s home in North Carolina burned to the ground and he lost essentially every thing he had and most sadly his dog. Losing an animal one is close to is just like losing a family member to many people and we just experienced that with the death of our 18 year old cat Molly who had to be put down after suffering a serious of strokes.

Apparently Matt Hardy saw smoke coming from Jeff’s home on Friday night, discovered that no one was home, but arrived at the house too late to do any thing but watch it burn to the ground.

These are challenging times for Jeff to say the least. Not only has he incurred his second strike with only one remaining before he would be terminated from the WWE, his situation has been underscored by the fact that his suspension went public per the WWE policy, which went into effect on November 1 and with which I wholeheartedly agree. Now Jeff’s home has been destroyed with the heart breaking reality that his beloved dog died in the fire as well.

Update from Jim Ross

man..good luck Jeff and stay clean dammit.

to make matters even worse, jeff didn't have insurance on his home...

the cause of the fire is said to be 'undetermined' at this point cause everything was destroyed so bad...but police said they aren't investigating any foul play involving jeff hardy due to the lack of insurance on the home (ie not motive to set it himself)
